Sold through

The sale is made through Link, LLC (a Stripe company), which acts as the merchant of record. Link processes the payment and calculates, collects and pays sales taxes such as VAT.

Your card statement shows LINK.COM*, and your receipt says “Sold through Link”.

What we sell

A NUMA licence key. NUMA is free for up to three items (bodies and lenses together) in the ledger on your device. From the fourth item you need a licence key. Entering the key removes the limit.

Price and payment

Price

USD 20. A one-off purchase, not a subscription. There are no monthly or yearly charges.

Tax

If you pay in US dollars or Canadian dollars, sales tax may be added at checkout. If you pay in another currency, the price shown includes tax.

Tax is calculated and collected by Link, based on where you are.

Other costs

None. Your internet connection costs are your own.

How to pay

With a payment method offered on the Stripe checkout page, such as a credit card. Your card details are not sent to us.

When you pay

You are charged when you complete the purchase.

Delivery

When

Right after payment completes.

How

The key is shown on the screen you see after payment, and sent to the email address you gave at checkout.

Paste the key into the app on your device. The key is checked on the device itself, so no connection is needed to use it.

If it does not arrive

Check your spam folder first. If it is not there, email us. We check the issue record and send the key again.

Requirements

A browser that runs NUMA: the latest Safari on iOS, Chrome on Android, or a current major desktop browser.

Please try the app with up to three items before you buy. The key does not change which devices or browsers the app runs on.

Refunds and cancellation

The licence key is digital content delivered right away. Once the key is issued, we do not normally give refunds.

In the EU and similar regions: before you buy, we ask you to agree that the key is delivered straight away, and to confirm that you lose the right of withdrawal once it is delivered.

To ask for a refund, email us from the address you bought with, and tell us the date of purchase.

This is not a subscription, so there is nothing to cancel after purchase.

Terms of Service

By using NUMA or buying a licence key, you agree to these terms.

1. The service

NUMA is a web app for keeping a list of your cameras and lenses and seeing them on a focal-length scale. Up to three items are free. A licence key lets you add more.

2. Your licence

3. Your data

4. Please do not

5. The catalog

6. Changes to the service

We may change the app or stop offering it. If we stop offering it, we will say so inside the app beforehand. The key is checked on your device, so it keeps working there afterwards.

7. No warranty, and limits on our liability

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We post the new version on this page with the date. For important changes, we also say so inside the app.

9. Governing law and courts

These terms are governed by the laws of Japan, and disputes go to the courts of Japan. If you are a consumer, this does not take away the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live.

Legal bases (EU, EEA and UK)

What we hold

What you register is kept on your device first. If you are not signed in, none of it leaves your device.

If you turn on cloud sync, the following is stored on our server (Supabase).

What we use it for

Nothing else. We do not use it for advertising, hand it to third parties, or sell it. There are no ad tags. To see how many people visit, we use Vercel Web Analytics, provided by Vercel Inc. Whether or not you are signed in, it receives the address of the page you open, the referring site, your approximate location (country and city), and your device, OS and browser type, among similar details. If sign-in values appear in the page address, they are removed before it is sent. It does not use cookies. Visitors are counted with an identifier that is reset every day, so the same person cannot be followed from one day to the next. It does not receive what you tap or any of your gear details, and we use it only to count visits. Separately, to count how people start using the app and how far they get toward buying, the app sends Supabase the name of certain events (such as “added the first item” or “tapped the buy button”) and where they happened, together with whether this is the Japanese or English site, whether the app was opened from the home screen, and the app version. No identifier for you or your device, no email address, no license key and no gear details are attached.

Who holds it

We use the following companies to run the app. Data held with them is kept outside Japan.

Transfers outside the EU

We are based in Japan, which the European Commission recognises as providing adequate protection. For data from the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Supabase and Vercel use the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses in their data processing agreements. Stripe relies on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and the Standard Contractual Clauses. Brevo is in the EU, and uses the Standard Contractual Clauses when data leaves the EEA.

How long we keep it

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask to see, correct or delete your data, to get a copy of it in a portable form, to restrict how we use it, or to object to our use of it based on legitimate interests. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To use these rights, email contact@numagear.com. You can also export your data yourself from "Backup" in the menu.

You also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the country where you live or work.

About catalog fix requests

When you tell us something in the catalog is wrong, we record what you wrote, the number that identifies you if you are signed in, and the version of the app. That is so we can track whether it got fixed. It does not include your gear or your name.

Account deletion requests come through the same place. For those we record the number that identifies the signed-in user (or, if you are not signed in, what you wrote yourself) so we can tell which account you mean. We use it for the deletion and nothing else.

When you want it gone

You can delete gear from inside the app. To delete the whole account, use the account deletion button under “About this app” in the app menu. We erase everything on the server. It is done by hand, so it is not instant.

If you can, send it while signed in, so we can tell which account you mean.

Age

This app is not intended for anyone under 13.
